šŸŒŸ How to put yourself out there

A whole different life is on the other side of your fears

Hey you. Flawsome you.

Letā€™s get right into it, because I know some of you might need to hear this today (I know I do).

Do you ever find yourself WANTING to put yourself out there, then when it comes time to ACTUALLY doing it, your brain just goes into overdrive?

ā€œTHIS IS DUMB.ā€

ā€œWhat if this gets 0 likes?ā€

ā€œNo one cares or wants to hear this.ā€

ā€œIā€™m not qualified enough to be doing this.ā€

Iā€™ve been there. I remember when I put one of my first Tiktokā€™s out, and it got 3 likes.

To make matters worse, there was 1 comment, that read;

ā€œDamn, 3 likes. Thatā€™s rough.ā€

ROUGH.

It stung, but then I remembered - everyone starts at 0. You canā€™t just skip all the numbers and get to 100 right away.

I want to share some tips on how to put yourself out there & hopefully change your perspective on it.

& this isnā€™t just for posting on social media - because not everyone wants to be a creator, and thatā€™s totally ok.

This is for reaching out to people, trying new things (maybe a new workout routine), or just generally doing something that might be uncomfortable for you.

šŸ‘€How to put yourself out there šŸ‘€

1ļøāƒ£ What will happen if I do this? Ask yourself, what is the worst case scenario if I do this? What is the best case? Letā€™s throw in an example.

You want to start a business in a new industry. Thereā€™s a handful of founders/CEOs you admire that youā€™d love to speak with, but youā€™re too afraid to message them.

Worst case scenario: they say no

Best case scenario: they say yes and you make a new connection. Maybe they even become a mentor.

Seems like a no-brainer, right?

2ļøāƒ£ What is your why? identify why you want to do this. For example, I am going to be launching a podcast where I am going to be talking about a lot of controversial & stigmatized subjects. Itā€™s scary. But my why is helping people get through their hardships and inspiring them to accept themselves & the things they cannot change. Helping these people is far more important than not being accepted by people who maybe donā€™t understand or respect my story.

Take a moment right now to think about your why. What is something you REALLY want to do, and why is it so important to you?

3ļøāƒ£ What will happen if I DONā€™T do this?: this is a question you should always be asking yourself. If you want to start sharing on social media but havenā€™t yet, realistically not a whole lot will change. Howeverā€¦ had you put yourself out there, you could have impacted hundreds (or thousands) of people. Those people could then go out and do the same. Itā€™s a ripple effect.

In my perspective, weā€™re doing ourselves, and others, a disservice by not sharing the knowledge we have. You never know who it could help.

No matter what it is, weā€™re never great at the beginning. Whether it be networking, adding in a new habit, starting a business, putting out contentā€¦

The most influential people in the world have sucked at their craft on day 1.

They only got better because they quieted the inner voices, anchored in their WHY, and continued to put in the work.

Weā€™re here for a limited amount of time, stop delaying.

Stay flawsome (and keep showing up for yourself, you deserve it),
