🌟 5 Steps to Overcoming Limiting Beliefs

an easy & efficient way to rewire your brain 🧠

Hey, Flawsome human.

Did you know the average person has 60,000 thoughts per day?

But the most alarming thing is, about 75% of those thoughts are negative… that’s about 45,000 negative thoughts!

I know at one point in your life you’ve heard something in your brain along the lines of…

“You’re not good enough!”

“You’re going to fail!”

And my personal favourite:

“You’re an imposter, everyone is gonna find out!”

It’s sad how we speak to ourselves internally, but the good thing is - it can be fixed.

I just recently did this exercise with my business coach and I know it can help you too.

Here’s 5 actionable items to rewire your thoughts:

1️⃣ Take 2 weeks to write down any negative thought, or belief, that comes up about yourself. It could be something as simple as, ‘you’re a shy person’ or ‘you only got here because of luck.’ Dump it all on paper.

2️⃣ Go through these thoughts and figure out when they first started. Did someone say or do something to you as a child for you to believe this about yourself? Maybe it was more recent. Take note of where it began.

3️⃣ Now challenge these beliefs. What are those beliefs based on, facts or assumptions? Challenge their validity and seek evidence that contradicts them. For example, if one belief is “you only got here because of luck,” write down all of the things you’ve done to get to where you are.

4️⃣ Reframe your thinking & turn limiting beliefs into empowering ones by reframing them in a positive light. Instead of thinking, "I can't do this," change it to, "I can learn how to do this" or "I can seek help to achieve this." Instead of “you got here because of luck,” tell yourself “you got here because you worked hard.”

5️⃣ Write your new beliefs somewhere you can see them daily. On a sticky note on your computer, on a mirror, maybe your phone wallpaper. Read them as often as you can.

It’s important to note that our thoughts manifest into our realities, and if you aren’t working on improving your belief system, it will block you from stepping into your full potential.
